Asian citrus psyllid (ACP) is an invasive pest that is now widely established in urban and suburban communities throughout Southern California. According to the ACP/HLB Distribution and Management website, there is currently no cure for the huanglongbing (HLB) disease that kills citrus trees and is spread by an insect, the Asian citrus psyllid. It is estimated that 60% of Californians have at least one citrus tree in their yard and so HLB is going to have a devastating effect on the California residential landscape.

Online Training Course
This self-directed course familiarizes users with the biology and management of ACP and HLB. At the end of the course, a certificate is provided showing evidence of successful course completion (must be logged in to receive certificate). This training is available to the public and no login is required unless a printed certificate of completion is needed. The course typically takes an hour to complete.

Course overview
This course provides information on limiting psyllid infestations in gardens and landscapes and minimizing their role in psyllid and disease spread. This includes understanding the biology of the insect and disease, how to look for each of them, existing control strategies, and best management practices in urban settings.
