UC ANR Web Accessibility Statement

Accessibility for all

The Division of Agriculture and Natural Resources at the University of California is committed to making its websites accessible to all users and we have included several features designed to improve accessibility for users with disabilities.

To improve the accessibility of our website we test any major redesign with several screen readers and other Web tools. ANR welcomes comments on how to improve the site's accessibility for users with disabilities.

If you use assistive technology and the format of any material on our websites interfere with your ability to access the information, please use the following points of contact for assistance. To enable us to respond in a manner most helpful to you, please indicate the nature of your accessibility problem, the preferred format in which to receive the material, the Web address of the requested material, and your contact information.

Intro to Web Accessibility Course

The “Introduction to Web Accessibility” online course provides the foundation you need to make your digital technology accessible so that it:

  • works well for people with disabilities
  • meets international standards
  • enhances the user experience for everyone
  • achieves goals

Accessibility is essential to create high-quality apps, websites, and other digital content — and to not exclude people from using your products and services. Click here to visit the W3C website for more information about the Introduction to Web Accessibility Course

Web Accessibility Requirements

The University of California Information Technology Accessibility Policy requires compliance with the WCAG 2.0 level AA standards for all web-based information.

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0 provide recommendations for making Web content more accessible. By following these guidelines, UC will make content more accessible to a wide range of people with disabilities, including blindness and low vision, deafness and hearing loss, learning disabilities, cognitive limitations, limited movement, speech disabilities, photosensitivity, and combinations of these. In addition, these guidelines will often make Web content more usable to everyone in general.
