4-H SNAC creates opportunities for youth in low-income communities to develop leadership skills related to healthy living, cooking, nutrition, physical activity and public speaking. 4-H SNAC is a partnership between the UC 4-H Youth Development Program; CalFresh Healthy Living, UCCE; school districts; community-based organizations; families; and volunteers.

4-H SNAC Clubs create spaces for:

  • Youth-adult partnerships around healthy living in underserved communities
  • Opportunities for youth to teach peers and family members about nutrition and physical activity 
  • Youth leadership and public speaking 
  • Youth-driven projects which may include: cooking, community service, STEM in the kitchen, and gardening for food.
