Polystyrene Collection Day

Drop off your clean, #6 Polystyrene

Please remove tape, tags, labels, etc. Clean, colored polystyrene food containers are also accepted.

As in prior collections, we are accepting CLEAN, colored FOOD CONTAINERS.  They MUST be washed!

We are also accepting Packing grade polystyrene (used for shipping items such as electronics.)  Please remove tape, tags, labels, etc. from the polystyrene before you bring it to the collection site.

Please separate the food grade from the packing grade polystyrene for us. 

We will be set up on Microtronics Way next to the Waste Management Recycling site. Turn onto Nugget, off Tuolumne Road, or onto Standard Road and follow the signs.

Note:  **The polystyrene drive is unable to accept packing peanuts. 

You may take these to the UPS Store next to Safeway*

Polystyrene will be collected at the Waste Management Facility by clients driving up with it their cars. MG volunteers will collect the polystyrene from clients. Most clients will not have to get out of their cars. Cars are in single file, one way in and one way out. Cones will be put up for one car at a time to unload. 

If you can’t make it to the Polystyrene Collection Day you could try the following two locations for drop-off on an ongoing basis:

Dart Container Corporation accepts polystyrene 24 hours a day. They have a bin on their property close to highway 12 that is available for drop off.

Foam Fabricators will accept expanded polystyrene Monday through Thursday 7:00 am through 3:00 pm. They are also open Friday from 7:00 am to 1:00 pm. When you arrive at their facility, please call their phone number and someone will meet you at their gate to accept the expanded polystyrene.
