About the Event
A habitat garden is a place that can provide food, shelter, and nesting space for insects, birds, and animals, as well as increasing the biodiversity of your garden. A habitat garden is more than just flower beds. By providing an assortment of plants which flower throughout the year, you are providing a consistent food supply which will encourage pollinating insects and birds to stay, feed, drink, shelter, and even reproduce. It’s easy to get excited about spring blooms, but spring is also a great time to plant ahead to keep your garden visitors happy year-round. Learn about the herbs, perennials, and natives that will be blooming throughout the year, as well as some tips about how best to plant, provide shelter and water to keep your insects and birds happy.
Presented by Rose Loveall, owner of Morningsun Herb Farm, a family-owned nursery specializing in culinary, medicinal, and specialty herbs.
