WORK EXPERIENCE

Farm Advisor: University of California Cooperative Extension, Tulare & Kings Counties. (Approximately 200,000 acres of cotton, 200,000 acres of small grains). Conducts a regionally Extension education and research program in cotton, cereal crops, and weed control. Has done extensive weed research in cotton, cereals, trees, vines, range, and ditch banks focusing on difficult to control weeds.  Past President and Honorary member of California Weed Science Society.

 Past Instructor: California State University, Fresno, Plant Science Department. Taught the "Cereal Crops", "Weeds", and “Agronomy” courses.

 Agronomist-Peace Corps Volunteer: Institute of Science, Technology & Agriculture (ICTA), Labor Orvalle, Quetzaltenango, Guatemala. 1975 to 1978. Worked out of a Guatemalan crop research station, conducting a research and extension program in corn, wheat, and potatoes.  

 Volunteer Work: Helped set up a fertilizer loan program in Copper Canyon, Mexico for 60 families. Has advised on agronomy or given classes in Thailand, Uzbekistan, and Peru and is working with farmers in Myanmar, Laos, and Nicaragua. Coordinated building and currently manage 4 soccer fields at Neighborhood Church in Visalia used for CYSA competitive youth soccer.
