Khagendra is a postdoctoral research scholar of University of California, Merced (UCM), based at University of California Agriculture and Natural Resources (UC-ANR) in Ventura County. His focus is on agroclimatic studies, particularly summarizing the effects of climate change on Ventura County’s major crops. Will also work on developing a state of climate science outlook report for Ventura County, focusing on the comprehensive assessment of spatiotemporal impacts of extreme weather events and their influence on major agricultural crop production.

He received his Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering from the Graduate School of Engineering of Kyoto University, Japan in 09/2021 and a master’s degree in agriculture engineering from the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), Thailand in 05/2011. He worked as a Research Associate at AIT from 06/2011 to 06/2013, then as an Agro-Climate and GIS Specialist at Regional Integrated Multi-Hazards Early Warning Systems for Africa and Asia (RIMES) in Thailand from 07/2013 to 03/2018
