CA Honey Festival in Woodland, CA
I saw an advertisement for the California Honey Festival last year and was unable to go. Fortunately, the opportunity arose again this year and I was able to attend this past weekend.
The CA Honey Festival is essentially a street fair which spans 4 main blocks with some off-shoots in downtown Woodland. The CA Honey Festival has something for everyone. UC Davis has lectures throughout the day regarding bee and honey related topics including, but not limited to, incorporating pollinator plants to nurture bees and other pollinators in your backyard. There are cooking demonstrations about how to incorporate honey into your home-cooking and baking. Lots of local honey vendors set up shop so that you can taste a variety of honeys throughout our local region and beyond (one of the most interesting features of local honey is that the taste differs depending on where a hive forages). There are activities for children like bounce houses. There were also many food trucks and stands featuring a vast array of food vendors to suit every taste.
Although this year's festival is over, you can find information regarding future festivals at https://californiahoneyfestival.com/. The festival is free.
