About the Event

View 22 new and experimental almond varieties from UC Davis, USDA, Burchell Nursery, Spain, and Australia, growing side by side in this 3rd leaf commercial orchard of Yorizane, the new self-fertile almond variety from USDA. All but two test varieties are self-fertile. Experimental varieties are being compared against standard varieties including Independence, Shasta, Yorizane, Nonpareil, Monterey, Butte, and Aldrich. This is one of several regional trials where we collect data on yield, kernel quality, bloom, disease and insect susceptibility and more. Breeders from UC, USDA and participating nurseries will be present to answer questions. Registration is requested, not required. To register, click on the flyer below:
