Nutrition Policy Institute’s Danielle Lee will present with University of California, Berkeley’s Jessica Rangel and Pepperdine University’s Rebeca Oropeza at the 2025 National WIC Association’s Education and Training Conference. The conference will reflect on past successes and discuss policy advancements and new research insights to drive potential improvements to the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children, commonly known as WIC. On April 22, 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. PT, their presentation “Facilitated by Social Support, Challenged by Shopping Barriers: A Qualitative Exploration of WIC Participant Perceptions on Program Participation and Retention” will detail NPI’s collaborative research on WIC participant outcomes and feedback on factors facilitating or creating barriers to program participation. This presentation will provide insight on WIC participant experiences and inform future program developments.
