About the Event

Thinking about buying or just bought some tomato plants? Or maybe you planted some tomato seeds and you are wondering what to do next? Then this is the tomato talk for you!

Bob Bowe, UC Master Gardener, will share some history, discuss types of tomatoes (Hybrids and Heirlooms, Indeterminate and Determinate), diseases and pests and how to manage them, growing from seeds or seedlings, planting, watering, fertilizing and caring for your plants through the growing season. Bob will also discuss some of his favorite varieties. You’ll be glad you came!

The talk (10-11am) will be followed by a tour (11am-Noon) of the community garden and UC Master Gardener demonstration garden. UC Master Gardeners will be available to answer garden questions.

Please bring a chair, water, and hat to the talk.

Parking: There is a parking lot with about 20 spaces at McClellan Ranch and an overflow parking lot with 30+ spaces, and 1 accessible space a short distance heading West on McClellan Road. The overflow parking lot is on the right.
