About the Event
Creating a Home Habitat Garden for Monarchs & More
The US Fish and Wildlife Service is proposing protections for the Monarch Butterfly by listing this sentinel pollinator as a threatened species later this year.
Learn how you can promote the survival of the Monarch and other members of our ecosystem by using California native plants to create a home habitat on your balcony, patio, porch or in your garden.
Find out which varieties of pollinator plant powerhouses will work best for you whether you plant a buckwheat in a container or nurture a large manzanita.
Visit our demonstration garden to see easy-to-grow plants from the Channel Islands, coastal sage scrub, chaparral, wetland, woodland and desert communities of California combined with waterwise Mediterranean plantings.
