4-H SUMMER CAMP

The Glenn County 4-H Youth Development Program sponsors a resident youth summer camp every year for youth, ages 9-13. This year’s camp is scheduled for Thursday, June 228th, through Sunday, July 1st, reports Alyssa Perry, 4-H Program Representative. The camp facilities are located at Mt. Lassen Camp in the Lassen National Forest near Mill Creek, California. The average participation is about 80-100 campers from Glenn County each year. The camp is staffed by 4-H personnel, volunteer adult leaders and high school age camp counselors. The 4-H Camp is a rustic camp with the philosophy of providing an exciting outdoor educational experience to as many youth as possible. The goal of the Glenn County 4-H Camp program is to provide youth an opportunity for growth and development in mental, physical, social and leadership skills.

Glenn County 4-H Camp needs of donations of meat, fruit, vegetables, canned goods, fishing polls, equipment & tackle, etc. There are many fun activities at camp which include: outdoor cooking, archery, fort building, fishing, outdoor recreation, crafts, dance, tie-dye, discovery through science, card and board games and many more fun activities. If you have any items that could be used for these activities, we would love to add them to our camp collection to use in future years.
