BIPOC Community Development

The BIPOC Community Development program advances inclusive, community-driven research and extension to support economic prosperity and self-determination among Black, Indigenous, and People of Color in the San Francisco Bay Area. The program strengthens civic engagement and promotes policy outcomes that address social drivers of health and community well-being.

Through close collaboration with local governments, UC specialists, and community-based organizations, the program identifies and addresses priority issues affecting BIPOC communities. Outreach efforts include workshops, publications, and digital platforms, with a focus on building partnerships and sharing resources across local, regional, and statewide networks. The program is affiliated with the Climate Action and Land Equity Project (CALE).

The program is led by Cristina Murillo-Barrick. Download Cristina Murillo-Barrick's program poster.
