A Gardener's Companion is a beautiful and useful book that will grow more valuable to you as you enter notes about your own garden. The San Joaquin Valley offers rich gardening opportunities in a unique climate. Most other gardening books do not address the Central California climate.  This new Third Edition incorporates information to assist gardeners interested in dry gardening practices.  It is not exclusively a low water use gardening book, but the effects of the past few years of climate change have been taken into consideration.  

The first half of the book consists of monthly articles about a featured topic, supplemented by To Do lists and useful seasonal information for planting, harvesting, pruning, and general maintenance for our unique part of the Central San Joaquin Valley. The second half contains articles about important gardening subjects. An order form is available should you wish to mail order this great publication.
