Work Smarter not Harder
After two knee replacements and recovery, I must admit that I am not as spry as I used to be. In my mind, I think I can throw 2 cubic foot bags of soil with ease and weed a garden plot in half an hour. Not anymore.
Changes must be made or my garden will go back to whatever Mother Nature wants. I need to implement things that will make it easier for me to garden: 1) make it easier to move things; 2) do not fall; 3) take pressure off my knees; 4) do not overheat and, 5) make harvesting easier.
I am using a garden cart to transport my tools, soil, and plants. No longer do I drag around those bags of soil and fertilizer. If the soil is too heavy to put into the cart I will transfer a lesser amount into another pot. Fortunately, I can still handle the 1 cubic foot bags of fertilizer. Since I am not carrying items, I can use a cane or pole to steady myself.
