The first Thursday of every month on In the Garden, UC Master Gardeners hosts Teena Spindler and Katrina Kirkeby will bring you special gardening information for the month – the first month of Fall.

In October, Southern California traditionally starts to transition into winter. Summer crops should be dug up. Continue planting your winter vegetable garden. Consider planting California Native plants now that it is Fall. You'll hear about most everything that will help you maintain your garden this month.
Oooh . . . Pumpkins! We'll feature a show on that big orange fruit/squash/gourd later this month.
