Like many of you I've heard about these white or rosé strawberries, but until yesterday never had the opportunity to try one.
My daughter found the ones pictured below at the local "Bargain Market" and brought them home for us to try, I think they were around $2.50 for the basket. I've included some pictures below.
A few comments, bearing in mind that I am not really a foodie and don't have the vocabulary that goes with it. At any rate, I see there was some bronzing on these, the fruit are really varied in size but the calyces are nice and green. Flesh of the fruit, the second photo, is white as advertised, but I'm not feeling any magic on the flavor. I still favor a good mature red strawberry over these I think.
Please don't interpret this as a knock on trying new things, because really bully for the organization taking this on and testing them out on the market. If you don't try new stuff, you'll never get anywhere.
