November is just around the corner

The trip to San Diego last week was good. I enjoyed seeing so many of our business personnel; about 10 total. And, I always like a chance to see the water. Friday I had fun playing hooky at Yosemite. Despite the month, there were a large number of visitors to the park.

Finding inspiration throughout UC ANR

A couple of weeks back, I had a chance to see the Hispanic Heritage Month video that featured DREC director, Jairo Diaz. I meant to find other videos, but I lost track of the thought. Today I had a chance to see those videos featuring Fe Moncloa, Maria de la Fuente, and Aileen Carrasco Trujillo.

UCCE advisor is tracking down answers to a lettuce aphid mystery

When Alejandro Del Pozo-Valdivia started his new job as UC Cooperative Extension entomology advisor in the Salinas Valley last year, he immediately faced an urgent problem in organic lettuce production. Pest control advisers were finding lettuce aphids in plants that were supposed to be resistant.
