4-H Updates

Dear 4-H families, We are looking forward to see you at the 4-H Holiday dinner & Achievement night on December 12th at Bolado Park in Pavallion from 4 pm to 6 pm. The dinner is caterer by Mangia Italian restaurant.

Hello 4-H Families, Hot off the presses we have some changes in affect for 2022 Salinas Valley fair. The goat weight change will effect all our fairs in California using this meat packer. We also have some changes to cattle and auction check pick up is farther out.

Dear 4-H families, It is fair time! We have many vegetable judging this year at Santa Cruz and San Benito fairs. See the information for San Benito fair. The 4-H staff will be at Santa Cruz fair this week with the 4-H exhibitors, if you need help from the 4-H staff please call my cell 831-205-3180.

Dear 4-H Families, We are fast approaching fair time for San Benito fair. Fair entries are due September 9th online. 4-H Staff will be at Santa Cruz fair the week of September 13th - 19th. See you at the fair. Have a wonderful weekend, Julie Katawicz 4-H program rep.

Dear 4-H families, We have an in person council meeting tonight. We will require mask for all people attending the meeting regardless of your vaccine status. We need to keep everyone safe especial our youth. I appreciate you wearing your mask for the meeting.

Hello 4-H Families, We are excited to announce an IN PERSON council meeting on Monday, August 23rd at 7 pm upstairs at Vets Hall. All people attending will have to wear a mask regardless of your vaccine status. We will not be asking your vaccine status.

Dear Livestock exhibitors, The 2021 Rabbit Show has been canceled due to the RHD Virus. Livestock schedule has changed see attached from fair manager. Entries are due August 6th for livestock also enter a still exhibit in the youth department as a requirement to show livestock.

Dear 4-H Families, We are sending you the July 4-H newsletter. We have updates on enrollment and COVID requirements. We can now meet in person again! 4-H physical office is now open on Wednesday and Thursday.

Hello Livestock Leaders and Families, Just a reminder if you are showing swine, sheep or goat at San Benito county fair you will need to notify your leader for a pre-tagging request. Leaders will need to submit an email to Dara Tobias, fair manager a pre-tag livestock tag request.
