No Soil, No Problem: Unlocking the Secrets of Aquaponics and Hydroponics
In the Garden with UC Master Gardeners has brought you wheelbarrows full of information on gardening in Orange County. Backyards, front yards, pots on patio, orchards, raised bed, what have you. Any place with lots of beautiful SOIL.

Well, this week on our show, we'll replay a show when MG Sally Richards talked to Jeremy Samson about how to grow certain plants using NO SOIL and with a little help from FISH! The topic this week is Aquaponics and Hydroponics! There are lots of benefits to the practice of soilless gardening.

Hydroponics alone is great for small spaces/no yards so one can grow much more than in a comparably sized garden plot because of the nature of hydroponic techniques. No weeds and much fewer pest problems. Paired up with Aquaponics, the sky's the limit on size and scope. Learn all about the two concepts, the six different types of systems, and all that you need to set up and run a hydroponic/aquaponic system.
