“This Month in the Garden” is this week's show on In the Garden with UC Master Gardeners. UC Master Gardeners and KUCI staff hosts Katrina Kirkeby and Teena Spindler will let you know what is going on garden-wise for the month of June. With the vegetable garden in full swing, remember to water regularly and deeply.

Especially cucumbers and tomatoes. Uneven watering can cause bitterness in the cuke and blossom end rot in the tomatoes. Be on the lookout for pest damage. Most common would be thrips and whiteflies.

Thrips can distort flowers but you often can't tell it is them because they are so small.  But whiteflies are another story as you find them on the underside of the leaves with the white spirals of giant whiteflies so evident. Tune in and learn more.
