Thank you to everyone who came out to our annual Cherimoya Tasting Event, and to all of the fabulous volunteers who helped pick/pack bags, cut fruit, direct traffic, and so much more.
Students from Irvine Christian Academy, ranging in ages from 4 to 18, along with their parents, visited the UC ANR South Coast REC to get a taste of the research being done at the Center.
A hint of banana? strawberry? kiwi? Join us and you can decide. Come out and try the exotic flavors of the various varieties of cherimoyas grown at the UC ANR South Coast Research and Extension Center on January 18th, 2019.
2018 was a tough year on the Persimmon harvest here at South Coast REC. The lack of rain and high temperatures during the bloom which causes the pollen to dry too quickly, did not provide a bountiful harvest of fruit this year.
Being outdoors is a big part of a scout's life. So, it is only fitting that one of the more than (135) merit badges available for them to earn focuses on soil and water conservation, and who better to collaborate with than UC ANR.
