Overview
Starting next week, we will offer a series of hands-on workshops for 4-H project leader volunteers. The workshops will focus on four primary areas:
- Session 1: Best practices in youth development with a focus on youth "sparks" (i.e. what topics youth are passionate about), sense of belonging, and positive relationships with adults (Arnold, 2020).
- Session 2: Learning in 4-H with a focus on how to facilitate hands-on experiential education along with how to plan a 4-H project.
- Session 3: Working with all ages (5 to 18) and abilities of youth.
- Session 4: Creating effective adult-youth partnerships and working with youth leaders.
Volunteers that attend all four sessions will receive a 4-H magnetic name badge upon completion of the workshop series.
