NPI partners with National WIC Association and Pepperdine University to conduct 2025 WIC Multi-State Participant Satisfaction Survey

Nutrition Policy Institute researchers will work with the National WIC Association and Pepperdine University to conduct a 2025 Multi-State Satisfaction Survey of participants in the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children, or WIC. Survey results will build upon prior surveys conducted in 2021 and 2023. The 2023 survey included more than 38,000 participants across 19 states, one Indian Tribal organization and one territory. NPI’s Lorrene Ritchie and Dania Orta-Aleman are principal investigators, with support from NPI researchers Danielle Lee, KC Fiedler, Celeste Felix, Reka Vasicsek, Kass Bacon and Hailey Powell. Pepperdine University’s Loan Kim serves as co-investigator. This two-year project ends December 2026 and is made possible through funding provided to the National WIC Association for a larger project known as Advancing Health Equity to Achieve Diversity & Inclusion in WIC (AHEAD) 3.0: Enhancing Equity throughout the WIC Participant Journey. AHEAD 3.0 will enhance understanding of and address barriers to WIC participation, particularly for Black, Brown and Indigenous families.
