Myrmecologist Jill Oberski, who just completed her doctoral dissertation, mentored by major professor Phil Ward, ant specialist and professor, UC Davis Department of Entomology and Nematology, will present her exit seminar on "Phylogenetics and Biogeography of the Pyramid Ants" at 4:10 p.m.

UC Davis doctoral candidate Erin "Taylor" Kelly of the laboratory of medical entomologist-geneticist Geoffrey Attardo will present her exit seminar on "Investigating the Metabolic Underpinnings of Pyrethroid Resistance in California Aedes aegypti" at 3:30 p.m.

Forensic entomologist Robert Bob Kimsey of the UC Davis Department of Entomology and Nematology will be featured at the Bohart Museum of Entomology open house on Saturday, June 3 on Insects and Forensics. The open house, free and family friendly, is set for 1 to 4 p.m.

Visitors at the recent Bohart Museum of Entomology open house on ants learned all about what myrmecologist Phil Ward, UC Davis professor of entomology, calls "our friends, the ants." The three-hour open house included displays of live ants as well as specimens.
