We recognize that recent immigration actions are distressing for many and we want to make sure our international colleagues at UC ANR are aware of the immigration and travel resources that they may need. Although the situation remains fluid, employees sponsored by UC ANR receive ongoing immigration-related communications from Services for International Students and Scholars (SISS) at UC Davis who are closely monitoring and assessing implications. For those in need of support, a list of resources is available below.
- UC Davis Services for International Students and Scholars
- UC 'Know Your Rights' printable card
- UC Immigrant Services Legal Center
- Federal updates | University of California
- UC FAQs on possible federal immigration enforcement actions on UC property
- Academic and Staff Assistance Program (ASAP)
Those interested may also subscribe to the SISS newsletter and join town halls for general immigration updates. However, employees not sponsored by UC should consult with their International Student Advisor or legal counsel regarding case-specific questions. For assistance finding legal counsel, please refer to the SISS list of immigration attorneys.
SISS will be holding an immigration and travel information session open to all UC Davis and UC ANR community members May 14 at 4 p.m. This will be a town-hall style session, led by SISS Director Andrew Shiotani, to provide updates to the international student and scholar community about recent immigration-related events as well as to discuss the upcoming summer travel season. Registration is required - please register at https://ucdavis.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_JqygiUfLRP6C7enyuCG5lg#/registration.
