We are happy to announce the availability of iThenticate, a resource for academic authors preparing to submit academic writing for publication. iThenticate is a web-based originality-checking tool that flags similarities in writing, identifies incomplete/improper citation, and detects the presence of generative AI writing. The tool is a helpful resource in identifying potential issues early in the publication process. Adoption of this tool will help to ensure the originality and quality of our academic work and protect our research and institutional integrity.
Submissions through iThenticate are made by the author of the work and are not intended for use by second-party individuals to check originality. Written material submitted for similarity detection through iThenticate is not saved or indexed in any other database.
UC ANR academic authors can access iThenticate via the UC ANR Learning and Development webpage using their UC ANR Single Sign On credentials. This landing page also contains guidelines for using iThenticate as well as training videos to learn how to use iThenticate and to understand and interpret the similarity reports produced by the software.
We hope that iThenticate will serve as a valuable resource to support and promote a culture of integrity and excellence in our organization. Please contact us with any questions or concerns.
