UC Agriculture and Natural Resources is hosting UC ANR Moves on Wednesday, May 11, at 9:30 a.m. It is part of the systemwide UC Moves.
All ANR employees are invited to participate in this annual community-building event by walking, outdoors or indoors, or engaging in another form of exercise, to promote healthy active lifestyles. UC Moves is sponsored by UC ANR's Staff Assembly Council Wellness Committee.
“We want to encourage ANR staff to lead walks at their ANR facilities with colleagues and take photos together,” said Scott Brayton, who serves on the Staff Assembly Council Wellness Committee. “This will encourage collaboration and group wellness during the event.”
This year's event will begin on Zoom and include some ANR facilities hosting in-person walking events. A stretching coach will lead light and fun stretching before the 30-40 minute walk or exercise break. If walking at another time, this video has some great exercise options. ANR employees who wish to stay on Zoom after the warm-up will have two breakout room options for online group exercises.
UC ANR leadership approves of participation and has granted one hour of release time.
Share photos. Take photos and videos along your walk. Share your walk experience through real-time videos and photos on social media (Facebook, Instagram or Twitter) using the hashtag #UCANRmoves. You can also share photos on the ANR Employees Facebook Group page: https://www.facebook.com/groups/634449560883829. It's a closed group so only employees who belong to the group will see the photos.
Participation prizes! The UC Staff Assembly Wellness Committee will randomly draw names from participants in the Zoom and in-person activities for gift card prizes.
