Meet UC ANR Fire Advisor Luca Carmignani, based at the South Coast Research and Extension Center in Irvine. He will be at this event representing UCCE San Diego and Southern California wildfire safety. 

May is National Wildfire Awareness Month, and there's never been a more critical time for communities like ours to prepare for the possibility of wildfire. This free, family-friendly event will bring together first responder agencies, community partners and professionals with residents to meet informally, enjoy a barbecue lunch (cooked by Encinitas firefighters), inspect fire fighting equipment and raise awareness of the wildfire challenges Olivenhain faces.
