This week on In the Garden with UC Master Gardeners, we have two subjects for you during the hour. UC Master Gardener Teena Spindler will speak with Gary Matsuoka, a local nurseryman, about one of the most time-sensitive tasks in the winter garden - planting bareroot nursery material.

It's that time once again and you'll hear what it takes to successfully plant and grow plant material which is sold, not in pots, but wrapped in plastic with limited moisture-retaining media. Proper planning is important so get your helpful hints here before venturing out to the garden center. Between shows will be 5 minutes of current events from the Master Gardener Classes and Events Calendar.

In the second half hour, check out your favorite seeds at your neighborhood Seed Library. What a concept! Just like at a library of books! MG Dece Morgan takes us to the Orange Public Library Foundation Seed Lending Library located in downtown Orange for a unique 30 minutes to tell you how all this works. Her guests are the Executive Director of the Orange Public Library Foundation, Linda Cundiff, and Megan Penn, Executive Director and founder of Orange Home Grown (OHG).
