This week on In the Garden, two topics are revisited based on recent inquiries to Master Gardeners. During one half-hour segment, your UCCE Master Gardener Katrina Kirkeby will have Dr. John Kabashima to speak about the issues with Ants.
You'll learn how to keep your home free of them and, if they've established themselves, what to do to get rid of them. The second half of the show will be MG Sally Richards and guest Dr. Cheryl Wilen discussing the primary tenet of Master Gardeners regarding pest management.
The key word is “INTEGRATED”. According to the UCANR.edu website, Integrated Pest Management is “a process you can use to solve pest problems while minimizing risks to people and the environment.” The focus of this show will be understanding pesticide labeling and other pest management solutions.
