Things are Hotting Up on the Central Coast

And BOOM the berry season is underway just a few days after the last rain.  Most of the flood water has receded, and the industry is on the move.  I'm getting pulled right along with it and already initiated two trials in the past two days, with plenty more coming.

I've been getting a lot of calls about weird stuff that's happened to plants over the past few months.  Wrinkled leaves, leaves that lack turgor, malnourishment and general flood related destruction.  I'm flattered to get all of these calls for sure, and it's great to be part of this endeavor - what's more I can bring a lot of intellectual heft to the table, not just me obviously, but lots of smart and experienced people in UC Cooperative Extension and people outside of the institution as well.  Just remember the more information you can share about the issue at hand, the better odds we have of solving it - tissue analyses, field history, spray history and plant history all help to getting to the core of the problem.

Let's get busy!
