Program Evaluation
The sun is shining and we are looking forward to a bright new program year. As you plan events for 2022-2023 please remember that our program evaluation is required. The data we'll help you collect will be beneficial to your local program and communication with your county partners. Collecting data from public education events is one of the key ways we tell our UC Master Gardener story. That story begins in your county.
Coordinators and volunteers connect with attendees while hosting events. As you complete contact sheets with participants' information from public education events, submit them to mgevaluation@ucanr.edu. Then, I will do the rest. That is, I will email participants about the survey and the survey itself approximately three months after the date of the event. I also analyze your data, so no need to be concerned about running any statistics. Finally, I will send you a report quarterly with your results.
All counties must participate in this important data collection effort – in addition to being a tool for you and your County Director at the local level, Missy Gable and Director of Government Relations, Anne Megaro are using our impact data in conversations with elected officials and the National Institute of Food and Agriculture as they pitch enhancements for the 2023 Farm Bill that could open new federal funding for Extension Master Gardener Programs including ours! To learn more about evaluation or if you need support, I encourage you to attend the evaluation brownbag on September 14, 2022 at 12 noon.
