Image removed. So much growing in the garden this time of year! Ever wonder what to do with the edibles when it comes time to harvest?

Preserve it!

This week on In the Garden with UC Master Gardeners, we are replaying a valuable show from the spring of 2017. UC Master Gardener and KUCI Staff Host Katrina Kirkeby will discuss what the Master Food Preservers of Orange County do. Fellow Master Gardener Cinda Webb, the OC Master Food Preserver Program Coordinator, will talk with Katrina about methods of preserving including water bath and pressure canning, dehydration, fermenting, etc. Learn how to make Fruit Leathers! Here's a tip .. to peel peaches (or stonefruit), cut an X in the bottom and submerge the fruit in boiling water for about 30 seconds, then remove and submerge in ice water! The peel will come off nicely. So much to talk about so we will alert you to resources to follow-up on so you can plan what to do once your bounty is harvested.
