Listen To "Native Plant Society California" on In The Garden Radio

Image removed. We have a sequel to a Native Plant Nursery we've aired before this week on In the Garden with UC Master Gardeners. UC Master Gardener Ann Liu comes back to this topic and interviews Laura Camp, General Manager of Tree of Life Nursery in San Juan Capistrano.

She will talk beyond the nursery business and more into the California Native Plant Society (CNPS or the local Orange County CNPS).

This organization helps the general public understand what has grown here before US and how we can reestablish habitat on our own property even after development. All kinds of resources are available through CNPS. Laura has been a board member of CNPS for quite some time and is currently co-chairing a huge Conference coming in late Jan-early Feb. in LA.

She will give you information in the CNPS origins, the mission, and the special programs like the Rare Plant Program. In that program, the society collects data on plants that may become endangered if efforts aren't made to inform planners before development and let conservationists know and work on behalf of native habitats. Plant Local … Plant Light … Plant Well!
